Despite rumours that suggest BlackBerry Ltd.’s popular instant messaging application, BlackBerry Messenger, is set to arrive on iOS and Android devices later this month, the Canadian smartphone maker is saying that’s not accurate.
According to a post on T-Mobile’s United Kingdom Twitter account — which has since been deleted — BlackBerry’s BBM service was set to be made available for Apple Inc.’s iOS platform and Google Inc.’s Android software on June 27.
However, BlackBerry officials told the Financial Post that BBM will not be launching on new platforms on June 27, and that the official launch date of BBM on iOS and Android has yet to be determined.
